Kudrin declared a way to reduce poverty in Russia twice

Head of the Accounts Chamber Alexey Kudrin said that the address support of the needy families is a way to reduce poverty in Russia twice. To do this, it would take a relatively small amount of funds – “a few hundred billion rubles,” Kudrin said in an interview with RBC.

According to the head of the Accounts Chamber, such a model of combating poverty should consist of a multifactor assessment of the need and ranking of the amount of payments depending on the income of the family.

“The most important thing is that these are absolutely reasonable and sinking numbers for the state, this is, in fact, several hundred billion rubles, which would reduce the level of poverty by about twice,” he stressed.

An effective method of fighting the poverty Kudrin called targeted payments to low-income families with children from three to seven years.

Decree of the change of their accrual rules in early March 2021 signed Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now the amount of payment to families depends on the level of their income, reaching 50, 75 or 100 percent of the subsistence minimum for the child in the region.

“The state went on an interesting way, and I fully support what was said to the president on targeted payments to families with children from three to seven years per child,” Kudrin emphasized. In his opinion, a similar differentiated approach should be applied in working with older children in need.

Previously, Kudrin called the model of the Russian economy “Izlezhnaya”. The head of the Accounts Chamber is confident that Russia must be more competitive in the field of export.
