The State Duma of Russia will make a bill to increase the limit size of social tax deduction from 120 thousand rubles to 360 thousand rubles, the text of the document appeared in the Telegram channel of one of the authors of the initiative, head of the Committee of the Lower Chamber for Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilova .
According to the explanatory note, the changes will be made to the Tax Code of Russia. The maximum amount of social tax deduction will increase from 120 thousand rubles to 360 thousand. According to the authors of the bill, now Russians can get deduction from expenses for education, treatment, as well as the formation of pension savings, passing an independent assessment of their qualifications. The maximum deduction size cannot exceed 120 thousand rubles for the tax period.
Get no more than 15.6 thousand rubles for the tax period – 13 percent of this amount – have the right officially working Russians who have guided money for social needs during the year.
According to deputies, the maximum amount of tax deduction was set ten years ago and never changed. During this period, the cost of services, for example, increased three times. The price of drugs annually grew by about 10 percent, and the ruble depreciated about three times.
The authors of the bill reminded about the fall of wages of citizens. So, according to 2020, real cash incomes decreased by 3.5 percent and were 10.6 percent lower than the level of income of 2013. It is expected that increasing the deduction threshold will make it possible to make social services for Russians more affordable. “The adoption of the draft law will allow citizens to return no more than 46.8 thousand rubles paid by them on the income of individuals for the tax period,” the deputies emphasized. In the case of approval, the law may earn from January 1, 2022.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance called taxes for Russians extremely low. The department reminded that the tax rate of individuals in Russia is from 13 to 15 percent, although in some countries it reaches 35 percent.
