Biden planned to hold a global Covid-19 summit

US President Joe Biden plans to spend the first of its kind to coronavirus’s Global Summit, reports AXIOS with reference to sources familiar with the course of discussions.

The event will be held within the framework of the UN General Assembly in the online format and will affect COVID-19 pandemic issues and prepare for future pandemics. It is intended to rally the international community and intensify obligations on the distribution of vaccine and public health resources due to the sharp increase in the number of cases of the Delta strain.

Biden will take part in the summit along with other national leaders, international, charitable and non-governmental organizations. Currently, discussions are underway at the level of the presidential administration. The 76th UN General Assembly starts on September 14, 2021 at the headquarters of the organization in New York.

Previously, the spokesman for the White House, Jen Psaki, said that the United States decided not to introduce a new locked location due to the distribution of the strain of the coronavirus “Dalta”. She also explained that the introduction of mandatory vaccination at the country level is not discussed.
