Former American Cardinal Catholic Church Theodore McCarrick accused of rape of the teenager, which he allegedly accomplished in 1970. It is reported by AXIOS.
91-year-old McCarik became the first Cardinal of the United States, who had ever made an official accusation of a sex crime against a minor. Mitchell Garabedian (Mitchell Garabedian) was submitted to the court, which, according to his lawyer, was subjected to beatings and rape from the priest at the age of 16, in 1970. As Garabedyan himself said, McCarik was his family friend.
In 2018, McCarik left the Cardinals of Washington because of a large number of accusations of the rape of adolescents. In 2019, Papa Francis deprived the Sana’s priest after the official investigation of the Vatican, which confirmed the facts of seduction of minors. However, previous claims about rapes in the 1970s and 1980s, submitted by men in New York and New Jersey, did not lead to the criminal punishment of McCarica due to the expiration of the limit of crime.
On July 26, it became known that every fourth pedophile in Poland is a priest. They account for up to 30 percent of such crimes. Previously, research in France showed that since 1950, the clergymen made more than 10 thousand sexual crimes against minors.
