Lukashenko accused West in desire to deprive Belarusians pensions

Western countries with the help of sanctions want to deprive the Belarusians wages, pensions, benefits and high-quality medicine. The president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, spoke with such accusations, reports BelTA.

According to politics, the Republic never faced with such a scope of economic restrictions in their address, but it is not going to dramatize the situation. He called the tactics of foreign powers in this direction “flawed” and added that it is intended only to “add our pain.”

“Therefore, sanctions are imposed in stages – pacito. Bute primarily on the export sectors of the Belarusian economy: petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, potash industry, and other,” said Lukashenko. The main goal of such measures, he considered the growth of displeasure Belarusians and discredit policy of the authorities.

At the end of June, the European Union introduced the fourth package of economic sanctions against Belarus. Under them were 166 physical and 15 legal entities. According to the measures taken, Brussels limits the access of Minsk to its financial markets, introduces restrictions on the trade in petroleum products and potash fertilizers, as well as tobacco products. In addition, the transfer of goods and technologies of military and dual-purpose and insurance services for the authorities of the republic is prohibited. The restrictions also connected the United Kingdom, USA and Canada.

The reasons of restrictions were the repression of the Belarusian authorities against the opposition leadership, violence against protesters, as well as a forced landing of the Ryanair aircraft. Official Minsk these charges rejects and considers sanctions attempt by political blackmail and pressure.
