Finance Minister Anton Siluanov denied information that the government has considered plans to increase personal income tax. He stated this during a briefing within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, RIA Novosti reports.
“by personal income tax we do not consider [new changes]. We really decided on the direction of increased personal income tax on complex children’s diseases,” the minister said.
He also noted that receipts from previously elevated NDFLs are estimated within 100 billion rubles, although it was planned to receive 60 billion.
Earlier, Member of the Public Chamber of Evgeny Nifantyev proposed to increase NDFL for citizens with income over five million, more known as “rich tax”, – from 15 to 18 percent.
Initiative to increase income tax for people with an annual income of more than five million rubles in the spring of last year, President Vladimir Putin acted. In October, the relevant law was adopted, from the new year a measure came into force.
