Russia can retain the status of the Great Energy due to the export of hydrogen. Such a condition called the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Relations with International Organizations to achieve the goals of sustainable development Anatoly Chubais at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PMEF). “Russia is able to put the task of preserving the status of the Great Energy Power with the substitution of hydrocarbon exports to the export of hydrogen,” he is sure. According to Chubais, now the gas transmission system can use up to 10 percent of hydrogen capacity throughput. “We have such a fantastic advantage that no one can dream about. We must clutch your teeth and immediately move in this direction,” he called.
The main complexity for the future development of Russia Chubais called climate change. According to him, the development of hydrogen energy is now comparable to the industrialization in the past. “For me, this is not the fourth industrial revolution – this is Industrialization number 2,” he compared.
In the conditions of a changing climate, the entire economy of the country must be changed, Chubais believes.
