The US Department of Finance said that the businessman Vasil Rozhkov tried to organize in Bulgaria “Russian influence”. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
Businessman was among the three citizens of Bulgaria, against which Washington imposed sanctions, suspecting them in corruption. “[Bozhkov] planned to provide this year a certain amount of money for a former Bulgarian official and Bulgarian policy, which was to help the Bozhkov to create a channel for influencing Bulgarian officials from the Russian political leaders,” said the department.
Earlier it was reported that the US Department of Finance introduced sanctions against the three citizens of Bulgaria and 64 organizations due to corruption. Their assets in the United States will be frozen, also sanctions imply a ban for American citizens to keep any business with the defendants from the list. Restrictions affected the businessman Vasila Bozkova, the former deputy of the People’s Assembly (Parliament) from the party “Movement for Right and Freedom” Delian Peyevski and a member of the National Bureau for Control for Special Intelligence Means Ilko Zelakukov.
