The Russian government will not allow gasoline deficit in the country in the summer, said the head of the Ministry of Energy Nikolai Schulginov on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”, reports TASS.
According to him, the rise in fuel prices in the wholesale is limited to the measures of the Cabinet of Ministers. He noted that it creates conditions for stability in the gasoline market. “This creates the situation when the change in prices for petroleum products will be within the framework of inflation dynamics,” the minister added.
Previously, the deputy head of the Ministry of Energy Pavel Sorokin reassured Russians about the possible deficiency of gasoline in the summer, which was warned by the Russian Fuel Union (RTS). According to the deputy minister, the current level of fuel production will allow to satisfy domestic demand in the market. Sorokin explained that the government made all the necessary measures for this and recommended the oil workers to accumulate reserves and increase processing volumes.
