Croatian automaker RIMAC presented a limited series of electrical hypercars with a capacity of 1914 horsepower and worth about two million euros. The first batch of cars will go to the world market already in 2021, Bloomberg writes.
One of the competitors of Tesla and supported by the German Porsche company RIMAC, producing electric cars, transmissions and batteries, presented its new all-wheel drive NEVERA hypercar. The car with the serial number with Two made his debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018.
Hypercar is named after a strong Mediterranean storm off the coast of Croatia. The NEVERA car accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in 1.85 seconds, is able to develop a speed of up to 415 kilometers per hour. From 20 to 80 percent of the NEVERA battery capacity is charged in 18 minutes. The cost of the hypercar will be Kolo 2.4 million dollars (1.9 million euros).
NEVERA supplies will begin until the end of 2021 through Global RIMAC dealers in 19 cities in Europe, North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The first batch will be 150 copies. Rimac is developing high-performance electric transmissions and batteries for Aston Martin, Porsche, Pininfarina, Hyundai, Kia, Koenigsegg and Renault.
In 2020, Porsche tried to exchange Bugatti, which is included in Volkswagen Concern, on a 49 percent share in the Rimac Croatian factory, but the deal failed. In March 2021, the German automaker declared investments in 70 million euros (84 million dollars) to Croatian Automobile Plant to build up its participation from 15 to 24 percent of the company’s shares package.
