An American from Russian colony gave advice Biden in front of meeting with Putin

The American Paul Wielan gave advice from the US President Joe Biden on the eve of his meeting with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin to President USA. It is reported by AXIOS.

Wylen urged the President of the United States to resolve the question of the detention of American citizens in political reasons during his upcoming meeting with Russian President. He also called the upcoming summit “a good step in the right direction” and added that he knew that Biden and US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, “work on my release and return home.”

Paul Wilan was detained in Moscow on December 28, 2018. On a flash drive seized by him, according to the investigation, the information constituting the state secret was discovered. The lawyer of the Americans argued that the carrier had personal information about his rest in Russia during previous visits.

On August 4, 2020, the sentence of the Moscow City Court, according to which Wylen was convicted on 16 years of the colony of a strict regime, entered into force. The American was sent to the colony IK-18 in Mordovia.
