Novak reported deadlines for completion of construction of “Northern Flow-2”

Construction of the North Stream-2 main gas pipeline, which takes place from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea, will be completed by the end of the year. After that, the pipeline will be put into operation. About this Vice Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated in an interview with Pavel Zarubin in the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the TV channel “Russia 1” reports TASS.

“The works that are underway today will be completed by the end of the year, and the project will be commissioned,” Novak noted.

On June 4, during a speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PMEF), Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the first thread of the pipeline was already completed. “I’m glad to report that it is today that, 2.5 hours ago, the laying of the pipes of the first thread of the gas pipeline” Northern Stream-2 “was successfully completed,” Putin said.

Also, the head of state called the deadline for the completion of the second branch of the “Northern Flow-2”. According to the president, it will happen in a half or two months.

To date, “Northern Stream-2” is ready for 95 percent. Initially, the launch was scheduled for the end of 2019, however, due to American sanctions, the launch time had to postpone several times. According to Alexander Novak’s vice-premier, everything remained to complete a plot of 100 kilometers long.
