Queen (equipment of onboard systems and scientific equipment) in cooperation with the GKNPTs named after M.V. Khrunichev (general design and production, are part of the state corporation “Roskosmos”) in order to expand the functionality of the Russian segment of the ISS.

The “Science” module was created on the structural and technological database of the Functional Freight Block “Zarya” using the experience of designing a transport ship supplying the piloted scientific stations “Salute” and the modules for the subsidiary of the orbital complex “Peace”. It will be placed on the Nadar Port of the Star Service Module and is intended for the implementation of the Russian Scientific Research and Experimental Program.

After commissioning a new module, the Russian segment will receive additional volumes to arrange jobs and storing goods, accommodation of equipment for water and oxygen regeneration, will improve and become more comfortable conditions for staying astronauts, and the safety of the entire crew of the ISS will increase.
