Authorities will track translations of Russians from “hostile” countries

State Duma June 8 will consider amendments to the law on countering money laundering, Kommersant writes. In particular, they will endow the authorities to track translations to Russia from hostile countries.

What kind of countries should be considered “hostile”, while it is not known – their list will be approved later and will become closed. How to officially be called such countries, the document also does not specify.

Responsible for tracking translations to Russians from “hostile” countries will be Rosfinmonitoring. This subordinate to the President of the President is mainly responsible for combating money laundering. He also leads a list of citizens recognized by terrorists and extremists by blocking their accounts.

The bill is entered into the lower chamber of parliament together with another document, which introduces the ban on the participation of Russian citizens in the activities of unwanted organizations abroad. According to the authors, such organizations are preparing Russians to intervene in elections, mass riots and help to organize unauthorized promotions.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin introduced the concept of “unfriendly” states, which is forbidden to hire local citizens in their diplomatic missions in Russia, as well as third countries. At the moment, the list is the USA and the Czech Republic.
