LUKOIL company, together with the Russian environmental society, took part in the environmental campaign “Clean shores” to collect domestic garbage near rivers and other reservoirs in the regions of Russia. About this “Lente.ru” reported in the press service of the company.
The event has been held since 2014, but the current summer has been published in a truly All-Russian level. Activists, among whom were both employees of the oil company and representatives of local public organizations, including environmental, cleared several dozen kilometers of rivers in 10 regions of the presence of LUKOIL – in the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Saratov regions, Perm Territory, Republic of Tatarstan, Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Districts.
Tens of thousands of household garbage and drying, including bottles, polyethylene, tires, fragments of old furniture, and household appliances are directed to the results of recycling and disposal. The action “Clean shores”, on the idea of the organizers, also has an educational mission – it reminds all residents about the need to take care of nature, and also encourages the safety rules in water – which is especially important on the eve of the swimming season.
“Conducting such actions is very important, they attract attention to the issue of conservation of water resources, raise the level of awareness of residents of the regions about the need to support the purity of water waters and I want to thank all the participants of the action,” said Rashid Ismailov, chairman of the Russian Ecological Society, – Joint Shares with LUKOIL significantly expands its coverage, together we bring it to the federal level.
