NATO Secretary General explained a dual approach in Russia

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg spoke about the approach of the Alliance against Russia. It quotes TASS.

Politician said that he discussed Moscow at a meeting with US President Joe Biden. They agreed that the approach in relation to Russia should be dual, directed both to deterrence and on dialogue.

As the TASS correspondent notes, Stoltenberg did not specify whether the meeting of the Council Russia – NATO will take place in the near future.

Earlier, Stoltenberg himself suggested Moscow to negotiate at the Council of Russia – NATO. According to the Secretary General, the Alliance offered the Russian side to organize a meeting for more than a year ago, but has not yet received a positive response. At the same time, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharov replied that the country was ready for dialogue.

In addition, the Secretands of the North Atlantic Alliance refused to consider a dialogue with Russia a sign of weakness. “We are strong, we are united. We have to talk to her,” he said.
