Pakistan refused to provide its US military bases, who bring troops from Afghanistan, said Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmud Kureshi. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“Base search may be their desire. It is about to give them grounds, there can be no speech, we must see our interest,” Kureshi said.
Previously, the New York Times newspaper with reference to sources familiar with the situation, wrote that the United States Administration was negotiating with the government of Pakistan on the transfer of military base. The material said that the base is needed by Washington to collect intelligence and application of counter-terrorism strikes in Afghanistan after American troops leave the country.
The official conclusion of the US and NATO troops from Afghanistan began on May 1 and will last until September 11, although actually the troops began to withdraw back in April. US President Joe Biden explained this decision to his conviction that the military forces of states and European countries could neither create nor maintain a sustainable Afghan government.
On June 1, the American Central Command reported that the United States brought a third of their troops from Afghanistan. It is specified that about 300 trucks with materials were taken from Afghanistan. At the same time, 13 thousand units of equipment transferred to the financial and technical support to the Ministry of Defense for disposal.
