The Russian Ministry of Finance supported the transition from the use of the dollar in international settlements to the use of the ruble and other national currencies. At the same time, the ministry stressed that such a transition should not be accompanied by a ban on calculations in dollars. This is stated in a message published on the office website.
“The Ministry of Finance of Russia Such a transition is supported, including the corresponding regulatory incentives are created. Naturally, no prohibitions may not include such incentives – only economic methods,” the report says.
Earlier on Monday, June 7, the director of the Department of Control over the external restrictions of the Ministry of Finance Dmitry Timofeev announced that the Russian authorities began to prepare for the abandonment of the dollar. According to Timofeyev, if the shift from the dollar will occur, this will allow the country to avoid further sanctions and in general make the world more democratic.
According to President Vladimir Putin, Russia does not intend to completely abandon the dollar as a reserve currency or a universal means for calculations. As the head of state explained, he meant that the United States uses its national currency for various sampling measures.
