Real size (with amendments to inflation) Salary in Russia grew in the first quarter by 1.6 percent in annual terms. Interfax reports this with reference to Rosstat data.
The average monthly wage in the country in nominal terms amounted to 55,208 rubles in March against 51,229 rubles in February 2021. In general, the dynamics of increasing real salaries slowed down. In the fourth quarter of 2020, an increase was 2.2 percent in annual terms, in the third quarter – 1.8 percent. According to the forecast of the government, the figure for the year will increase by two percent.
Real salary in 2020 increased by 2.5 percent. So, in December, they increased by 4.6 percent in annual terms and 39.5 percent in the monthly.
At the same time, the real disposable revenues of Russians collapsed to a record low since 2009, since the coronavirus pandemic strengthened the pressure on the stagnant economy. This is stated in the study of the Institute of Developing Economics of Finland Bank. Family revenues decreased by almost five percent in the first quarter of this year compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
