Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska said that he would continue to defend himself after the refusal of the court to cancel American sanctions imposed against him. On the reaction of the businessman on the decision of the court informs RIA Novosti.
Deripaska called the court decision “predictably absurd.”
Previously, it became known that the court in the United States refused Deripask in a lawsuit demanding to cancel the sanctions. The judge consistently rejected Deripaska’s lawyers who called it into the list of sanctions by Voluntarist, and closed the case. In this case, the solution can be appealed in a higher court.
The US Department of Finance introduced sanctions against Deripaska and the eight of its assets in April 2018. In January 2019, restrictions against EN +, Rusal and Eurosibenergo companies were removed due to the agreement achieved with the American Ministry of Finance. However, the rest of the company and the billionaire itself remained under sanctions.
Deripaska sued the US Department of Finance in March 2019. Businessman declared the bias of the US authorities and violating the basic principles of the US legislation, in particular, the presumption of innocence. According to an entrepreneur, due to restrictions, he lost more than seven billion dollars. He stated that American sanctions were informed against him are based on lies. According to him, for the introduction of restrictions was not presented “no facts, no reason.”
