American President Joe Biden came to the first EU – US Summit since 2014. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
Ex-president of the United States Donald Trump did not hold a single such meeting: he only met with the leaders of the European Union institutions in 2017. Biden was accompanied by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Lyien and head of the European Council Charles Michel.
At the Summit, the American politician argued with his predecessor relative to the views on the cooperation of the EU, the USA and NATO. “I think we have a great opportunity to work together, and we are very happy … The United States is extremely interested in good relations and with NATO, and from the EU,” Biden stressed.
Summit of the leadership of the European Union and the United States takes place on Tuesday, June 15, in Brussels. Before that, on June 14, the NATO summit was held there, where Biden was also present.
