Estimated loss of economics from stress workers

Stress in the workplace costs the global economy of 8.1 trillion dollars. Such an assessment was given by Gallup analysts in the State of the Global Workplace study.

Seven of the ten employees experience difficulties or suffer in the workplace, and 80 percent are not involved actively in the labor process. Because of this, labor productivity falls, the global economy loses almost 10 percent of GDP annually.

In Pandemic, the involvement of employees has decreased by two percentage points (up to 20 percent). About 45 percent felt the effects of a pandemic: each second of them declared a fall in revenues, 53 percent were forced to suspend work, 32 percent lost position or business. Only 43 percent almost every day under work stress, 41 percent – anxiety, 24 and 25 percent – rage and sadness, respectively.

Most of all stress is subject to US and Canada employees, over the year their level of stress jumped to eight percentage points, up to 57 percent. In Russia, 23 percent of employees feel their involvement in the labor process, about 19 percent have stress, anxiety – 23 percent, anger – 14 percent (the smallest indicator among the CIS countries) and sadness – 20 percent. However, only 12 percent feel a respectful attitude at work.

Earlier it was reported that monthly Moscow companies are lost from an hour of an employee’s idleness from 7.5 to 25 thousand rubles.
