Scientists have declared an unexpected protection method from COVID-19

Scientists from Yale University called an unexpected protection method from COVID-19. According to the researchers, the cold virus launches in the body of a sick immune response, which avoids coronavirus infection, reports Hull Daily Mail.

Experts have previously discovered that improving immunity from a cold can protect a person from influenza. Therefore, scientists began to look for a similar mechanism to combat COVID-19.

Researchers were raised in the laboratory the respiratory fabric and infected with rinovirus, which causes a cold, and later – coronavirus. After interaction with the first immune system, activated and stopped the distribution of COVID-19. Scientists hope that their work results will help develop more efficient ways to treat coronavirus.

At the same time, experts note that such a treatment method should be used as quickly as possible from the moment when the patient has become coronavirus: this will avoid the exponential distribution of COVID-19. However, at the later stages of the disease should not be applied to such therapy, since the high level of interferon may excessively stimulate the immune system and aggravate the COVID-19 flow.

“There are hidden interactions between viruses that we are not entirely understood. The results we obtained are only part of the puzzle, which we are solved,” Ellen Foxman, Associate Professor of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Immunobiology of the Yale School of Medicine, emphasized.

Previously, scientists warned about changing the general symptoms of COVID-19. Researchers from the Royal College of London consider the virus mutations led to the fact that the most common symptoms of infection are now headache, runny nose and sore throat.
