NATO has declared development of plans to counteract China

The leaders of the countries participating in the North Atlantic Alliance announced the development of a new basic document – the strategic concept of NATO. This is stated in a statement following the summary of the tops in Brussels.

In a document as a potential threat to the security of a block for the first time in history, the PRC is named. In the NATO security threat threats list, the growing influence of China and its international policy is indicated. “China creates serious risks in the field of telecommunications, in the aerospace and cyberspace,” is noted in the document.

North Atlantic Alliance, in particular, concerns “China’s cooperation with Russia in the military sphere, the participation of the PRC in the exercises that the Russian Federation holds in the Euro-Atlantic region.” At the same time, NATO countries intend to support with China “Constructive dialogue, where possible.”

NATO’s strategic concept is planned to be approved in 2022.

Earlier, the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg said that the North Atlantic Alliance marks an increasingly active cooperation between Russia with China, which represents a “serious challenge.” “We note that Russia and China recently cooperate more and more actively as politically and in the military,” he said.
