US President Joe Biden met with the Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II. According to CNN, the meeting was held in Windsor Castle, in which the monarch lives in self-insulation from November 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The American leader arrived in the summer residence of the Queen together with his wife Jill on a helicopter from London Heathrow airport after the completion of the G7 Summit. Within the framework of the ceremony, the honorary guard made solemn salts in the courtyard of the Windsor Castle, and the orchestra performed the anthem of the United States. After that, honorary guests and Elizabeth II went to the traditional English tea party.
The meeting of two leaders lasted 40 minutes. According to Baiden, the Queen of Great Britain was interested in the Chairman of the PRC Si Jinspin and Russian President Vladimir Putin, with whom the American leader plans to meet on June 16. The US head also noted that he invited Elizabeth II to the White House. “She was very kind. She reminded me of my mother,” he noted.
This is the first meeting of the Queen of Great Britain in the format one on one with the world leader since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
Joe Biden became the 12th current US president who met with the Queen of Great Britain.
