CD Projekt Red representatives stated that they could not know the exact number of data stolen. This is reported on the company’s website.
The statement says that the studio specialists received new information about the February burglary of the company servers. “Now we have reason to believe that internal data illegally received during the attack is currently distributed on the Internet,” the situation commented on the situation.
In this case, the studio cannot accurately call the volumes of disclosed information and its content. It is assumed that the scale of leakage turned out to be more than at first glance: in stolen archives, in addition to the source code of games, data could contain about the current and former CD Projekt Red employees, as well as the contractors of the company. In addition, in the Polish corporation do not know whether there were negotiable information to manipulations or fake.
Nevertheless, in the studio they reported that the company cooperates with law enforcement agencies to find out all the details of hacking. CD Projekt RED turned to the Main Department of Polish Police, Interpol and Europol.
“From the moment of hacking, we accepted many measures to protect and strengthen our internal systems to protect against such violations in the future,” the representatives of the studio assure. In particular, IT infrastructure was recycled, new generation firewalls were introduced with advanced protection, the number of privileged accounts and the rights of access to the accounts were limited.
At the beginning of the summer it became known that the Cyberpunk 2077 source code was at the moment, the studio flagship product was put up for sale. Attack on the company servers and drained data occurred in February.
