Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his British colleague Dominic Raab will hold negotiations next week. The estimated period of negotiations was revealed by a representative of the Russian department Maria Zakharov in its Telegram channel.
Zakharova clarified that the ministers will talk on the phone. There are no other details regarding the upcoming negotiations.
For the first time about the upcoming negotiations, the British minister said. Raab did not name the exact date of the meeting, saying only that it will take place “in the near future.” He also refused to comment on the questions he wanted to raise in a conversation with the Russian colleague.
Raab also appreciated the possibility of “positive” relations with Russia. According to him, “the door for a positive relationship [with Russia] and diplomacy for us always remains open”, however, “Russia’s behavior should change.” At the same time, the British minister first allowed the imposition of sanctions against the North Stream-2 gas pipeline in connection with the forced landing of the Ryanair liner in Minsk and the detention on board the ex-head of the Telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich.
