CloudFlare published Warp for Linux

CloudFlare announced About releases options Warp for Linux that combines in one DNS resolver application using DNS service 1.1.1.1 , VPN and proxy to redirect traffic through the CLOUDFLARE content content network infrastructure. To encrypt traffic in VPN, the Wireguard protocol is used in the BoringTun implementation written in the RUST language and operating entirely in the user space.

A distinctive feature of Warp is close integration with the content delivery network. CloudFlare provides Content delivery network for 25 million Internet resources and serves a traffic of 17% of the 1000 largest sites. If the resource is served in CloudFlare, accessing it through the Warp will lead to a faster transmission of content than when contacting the provider’s network.

In addition to VPN, there are several modes of operation, allowing, for example, encrypt only DNS requests (enable DNS-over-HTTPS) or run Warp in a proxy mode to which you can contact via HTTPS or SOCKS5. Optionally, you can activate filters to block the resources on which malicious activity or content for adults is revealed.

Ready-made packages with Warp for Linux Prepared for Ubuntu (16.04, 20.04), Debian (9, 10, 11), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (7, 8) and CENTOS. In the future, promise to expand the number of supported distributions. The program is decorated in the form of the Warp-CLI console utility. To organize a VPN, using the CloudFlare network, in the simplest case, it is sufficiently authenticated on the Warp-Cli Register command and the “Warp-Cli Connect” command to create a tunnel for transmitting traffic from your system.
