The former presidential candidate of Belarus and the opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovsky is still in an interstate wanted list in the CIS. This was stated by RIA Novosti Press Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Olga Sometododas.
Earlier in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported that Tikhanovsky was excluded from the base of the wanted persons in the Russian Federation on the basis of the decision of Belarus, initiated by its wanted list.
Tikhanovskaya announced the federal wanted list in Russia in October 2020. The source of “tape.ru” in law enforcement agencies reported that Tikhanovskaya is wanted under the legal assistance agreement concluded between Russia and Belarus. According to him, if a person is announced in the wanted list in one of the treaties, it is automatically declared in the wanted list and in the second country.
Later in the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that Belarus turned to Russia for help in finding their citizens in the framework of the Allied State Treaty. Tikhanovskaya wanted under the article about calls to action aimed at the harm of the National Security.
