According to the diplomat, the first results of negotiations with Washington can be achieved by August of the current year. He noted that restrictions against several German companies and individual citizens were already canceled, and work in this direction continues.
On June 20, Advisor to American President Joe Bayden on National Security Jake Salvan reported that the United States will continue to impose sanctions against Russian companies related to the construction of “Northern Flow-2”. According to him, Biden said that it was not ready to impose restrictions on European partners, but it is ready to introduce sanctions against Russian organizations involved in construction every 90 days.
At the same time, at the end of May, Biden Washington refused sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 AG gas pipeline operator and his heads of Mattias Varniga. At the same time, the United States introduced restrictive measures against Russian organizations and vessels involved in the Northern Stream-2 project.
Initially, the launch of the “Northern Flow-2” was scheduled for the end of 2019, but due to American sanctions it had to postpone him several times. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in June that the completion of the second branch of the pipeline will occur after one and a half or two months.
