Outdated Windows 7 will no longer receive drivers via Microsoft. This is reported on the company support website.
The message for users is specified that Microsoft stops publishing drivers in the Windows Update Center for Windows 7. Restrictions relate to the SERVICE PACK 1, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 versions. Current drivers stopped being downloaded on the platform on June 17. This is explained by the fact that the validity of the trusted SHA-1 certificate for the OS described expired and will not be extended.
In this regard, the company will stop deploying drivers signed by the SHA-2 certificate for the specified operating systems. According to Microsoft specialists, the company introduces this change to reduce compatibility problems for users who are still using Windows 7 versions.
The only way to extend the driver’s receipt is to purchase a Windows 7 corporate license. It is specified that computers included in the Advanced Security Updates (ESU) program will continue to receive updates until January 2023.
previously it became known that in October 2021 NVIDIA stops the release of drivers for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. Support for popular Windows 7 was stopped on January 14, 2020. UK users offered to upgrade to Windows 10.
