Today, June 21, 2021, the hero of the Russian Federation, the pilot-cosmonaut of the Russian Federation Oleg Kononenko takes congratulations on his birthday. In 1996, Oleg Kononenko began passing a course of general-copier training at the Center for Cosmonauts. Two years later, having exceeded state exams, Oleg Dmitrievich completed the OKP course and received the qualifications of the “cosmonaut test”.
His first space flight Oleg Dmitrievich was performed from April 8 to October 24, 2008 as a flight engineer TPK “Soyuz-TMA-12”, the flight engineer of the 17th primary expedition to the ISS. The duration of the flight was 199 days. During the flight, the main hermetic section of the Cybo Research Module was installed, work with the first ESA cargo ship was carried out, 523 scientific sessions of 57 experiments were carried out on the Russian segment of the ISS.
Oleg Kononenko performed two outlets into open space with a total duration of 12 hours 15 minutes. For courage and heroism, manifested during the space flight, OD Kononenko was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.
On December 21, 2011, Oleg Dmitrievich went to space as part of the 30 / 31st long expedition to the ISS as the commander of the TPK “Union TMA-03M”, the ISS-30 flight engineer and the MCS-31 commander. During the flight, work was carried out on the implementation of the program of scientific and applied research and experiments, receiving cargo ships, maintaining the performance of the station and its retrofitting, and the exit to open space (6 hours 15 minutes). On July 1, 2012, the crew of the Soyuz TMA-03M spacecraft safely returned to Earth after the 192-daily flight.
Third Space Flight Oleg Kononenko made from July 23 to December 11, 2015 as part of the ISS-44/45 crew as the Commander of the Soyuz TMA-17M and the ISS flight engineer. Flight launched 142 days.
December 3, 2018, he started for the fourth time as the commander of the Soyuz MS-11 ship, together with the Astronaut of CKA David Saint Jacques and Astronaut Nasa Ann McClein. During the flight, there were two outlets into open space. The first – 11-12 December 2018 – along with Sergey Prokopyev (duration of 7 hours 45 minutes). During the exit, the astronauts got to the ship “Soyuz MS-09” with the help of two manipulators “Arrow”, opened the screen-vacuum insulation (EVTI) and opened the planned work. It was a unique and difficult job that would undoubtedly enjoy the history of world cosmonautics. The sealants that the ship’s hole was closed, as well as the materials from the surface around it, were laid into an insulating container and delivered to Earth on December 20, 2018 together with the crew of the “Union MS-09”.
