Developed as part of the NEXT-Generation Air Dominance Program program (NGAD) for the Air Force (Air Force) of the USA, the sixth generation fighter will receive an expensive “Chinese” and cheap “Russian” versions, reports The Drive.
According to the US publication, in the first case we are talking about the aircraft of a large range of flight, intended for action in the Pacific Ocean. In the second – about the fighter of a smaller range for Europe.
The Drive writes that NGAD will be partly a multi-purpose aircraft capable of amazing air and ground targets. The publication notes that in its tasks the sixth generation fighter resembles the world’s first fifth generation aircraft F-22 Raptor, from which the Pentagon plans to refuse. Nevertheless, according to The Drive, the first of the second will distinguish an increased flight range and a large battle load.
Edition notes that the production of smaller range fighters will cost cheaper than more aircraft.
In September 2020, Will Roper, taking an assistant to the procurement of the US Air Force, stated that the Pentagon in terms of secrecy was designed under the NGAD program, built and at least once raised the prototype of the X-aircraft under which it means , in particular, an unmanned or manned aircraft of a new generation, including the sixth generation fighter.
