Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Andrei Rudenko said that in some foreign countries, the Russian-speaking population is exposed to open discrimination, attempts are also made to eradicate Russian and education. This is reported by TASS.
During the speech at the International Forum of Russian compatriots, politician criticized this phenomenon and noted that such actions need to be regarded as a cynical violation of human rights, which cannot be justified by political motifs.
“We are doing and will do everything that depends on us to protect the rights of the Russian-speaking community, activists who came under the pressure of local authorities,” said Rudenko.
The Deputy Foreign Ministry also added that over the past year, funding for the support and protection of the rights of compatriots living abroad has been increased.
Politician also pointed out the importance of connecting young people to the movement of compatriots and the formation of youth coordination councils.
Earlier in June, President Latvia Egils Levves called the Russian language of the recovery of the occupation. The head of state predicted his displacement in the country of English. He added that most of the Latvians face discrimination in the labor market due to ignorance of Russian and power should contribute to the spread of “one of the languages of the European Union” to solve the problem.
