Earlier, US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan also stated that he would return to Moscow soon. “After an important summit, I look forward to a quick return to Moscow to lead the strong team of the US Embassy in Russia in implementing the directives of the President Bayden, set out in Geneva, including directives in the field of strategic stability, human rights and stable and predictable relations with Russia”, – he said.
Following the summit of Russia and the United States in Geneva, it was decided that the ambassadors of both countries would return to the embassy in Moscow and Washington. Putin clarified that they with the American counterpart Joe Biden agreed on this decision, and the specific deadlines for the return of diplomats to the place of their permanent service – a purely technical issue. He also added that the parties will hold consultations on the diplomatic direction.
