Astronomers reported approaching an asteroid ground with two statues of freedom

Asteroid 441987 (2010 NY65) twice the statue of freedom (187 meters), which NASA called “potentially dangerous”, will fly by the Earth in the coming weeks. It moves at a speed of 13.4 kilometers per second or more than 48,000 kilometers per hour, reports Daily Express.

Asteroid will reach its point of maximum approximation to Earth on June 25. At this point, it will be from the ground at a distance, 15 times higher than the range between the Earth to the Moon. At the same time, NASA experts consider it close enough to be called an near-earth object and “potentially dangerous.” Although the “dangerous” status does not guarantee collisions, there are factors that may affect the path of the asteroid. Sometimes the asteroid orbital trajectories affect the gravitational attraction of the planets, which leads to a change in their trajectories. Scientists believe that random asteroids or fragments from earlier clashes of bodies crashed into the ground in the past, playing an important role in the evolution of our planet.

The force known as the Effect of Brovksky can also force an asteroid to deviate from the course. The effect occurs when the space breed is heated under direct sunlight and cooled to release radiation from the surface. “This radiation has strength on an asteroid, acting as a kind of mini-engine, which can slowly change the direction of the asteroid over time,” explained in the NASA reactive movement laboratory.

Experts added that near-earth objects are comets and asteroids, displaced by gravitational attraction of nearby planets into orbits, which allow them to reach the near-earth neighborhood. The scientific interest in comets and asteroids is largely due to their status as a relatively unchanged garbage remaining in the process of forming a solar system about 4.6 billion years ago.

While the giant planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune) were formed from the cluster of billions of comets, and the remaining pieces of this process and fragments are comets that we see today. Asteroids are pieces and fragments remaining from the initial agglomeration (formation of a sintering of large porous pieces of fine ore or dust-like materials – approx. “Tape.ru”) planets, such as Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.

In April, NASA specialists said that they would prepare for the collision of the conditional asteroid with the Earth. Large-scale studies will be carried out by scientists of the laboratories of the reactive movement (JPL), which is part of the NASA. The teachings will allow National Department and Related Organizations in other countries to develop a plan that will help avoid clashes with celestial bodies or minimize damage from such incidents.
