The only Russian aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” is in poor condition, states the American edition of 19FortyFive.
The publication notes that the overhaul and modernization of the ship began in 2017, but after almost half of the decade, it was not completed with it. The publication reminds that, according to the latest data, the Navy (Navy) of Russia will receive “Admiral Kuznetsov” not in 2022, as previously planned, and in 2023.
19FortyFive writes that the lag in terms is due to several factors, in particular, delays in the supply of equipment, an accident of the floating dock of PD-50, fire and corruption.
The publication assures that in recent years there have been serious efforts to modernize the Navy of Russia, but “Admiral Kuznetsov” still remains his “black hole”. “The future of the warship was repeatedly questioned because Russia does not have a fairly large dry dock to serve the ship, but the work continues, at least on paper,” 19FortyFive assures.
In January, the DRIVE edition wrote that Russia should refuse his only aircraft carrier – “Cursed” Admiral Kuznetsova, focusing on the construction of a couple of new universal landing ships.
In December 2020, in the publication of the American magazine The National Interest, it was argued that “Admiral Kuznetsov” after repair on the “asterisk” may not demonstrate proper combat capability.
