Rospotrebnadzor rated the damage to the Russian economy from Coronavirus in 2020. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the report of the service “On the state of the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population in the Russian Federation in 2020.”

According to the document, the damage from COVID-19, even if not to take into account the loss of an unprovered gross national product as a result of deaths and temporary disability, last year exceeded 997.06 billion rubles, which is 1.4 more than all other infectious Diseases.

According to the service, 183 billion rubles were spent on the treatment of patients with coronavirus in stationary institutions, and for testing on COVID-19 – 108 billion rubles. Earlier, the Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov called the main tasks of the country’s economic policy in the near future. The minister stressed that in 2020, the global economy as a whole was seriously trials due to coronavirus pandemic. Now she gradually moved to restoration, but new realities require Russia to solve key problems. According to Siluanov, we are talking about reducing poverty, providing medical care, restoration and growth of citizens’ income, as well as creating a comfortable environment for life and economic activity.
