Belarus has formed a set of measures in response to the sanctions of the European Union and may soon approve it. About this, as RT reports, the Prime Minister of the country Roman Golovchenko reported in an interview with TV channel “Belarus 1”.
“I want to emphasize that a set of measures in response to Western sanctions is ready. We choose the most adequate response measures from that set, which we have developed and which we brought the signal to our partners. Sanctions from the United States and the European Union Belarusian Prime Minister called the attempted blackmail and pressure on the country, and their goal is to change power in the country.
Head of the Cabinet also noted that Minsk will revise trade and economic relations with the EU. According to him, the Belarusian government is ready to replace European resources and in the financial sector if the EU decides to cancel earlier investment agreements.
“We are ready to apply special protective measures against our market. This applies not only to investment imports to Belarus, but also of consumer goods. We have all the powers in order to act in defense of our interests,” – Noted Golzchenko.
Prime Minister also added that Minsk will apply special protective measures regarding its market, and will also provide support for all segments of the population that may suffer from sanctions.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharov has previously spoke about the damage of antibelorussian sanctions for the European Union. She noted that the economy of many Eastern European and Baltic countries directly depends on trade with Belarus. According to her, Lithuania will carry the greatest losses.
