Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of Western University in Pilsen and the Institute of Studying Totalitarian Mode will open access to archival documents of the People’s Commissariat of Internal Affairs (NKVD) of the USSR on repression against Czechoslovaki citizens. We are talking about repression from the Soviet Union, which were held in 1920-1950. A spokesman for Western University of Shark Stara said that the archive is digitized using special software. The program will process more than a million written documents and photos.
“The goal of the project is to draw up the archive of documents of the Soviet special services, which will be available online, and where it is possible to search, based on the specific content of the documents, by name or other data from the human biography repressed in the USSR, at the time period and other criteria.” , “said Stara. She noted that at the moment the program already works in test mode.
