Scientists have proven to reduce effectiveness of Pfizer vaccine after six months

Scientists have proven that the effectiveness of the Vaccine from Coronavirus Pfizer / Biontech six months decreases from 96 to 84 percent. This is reported by STAT edition with reference to a scientific work preprint, published on the MedRxiv website.

According to the study, the maximum efficiency of the drug in preventing coronavirus infection, “causing even minor symptoms,” is observed two months after vaccination. After every two months, it decreases by an average of 6 percent and six months later reaches 84 percent. It is noted that if the effectiveness of the vaccine will fall at the same pace, then after 18 months from the date of vaccination it will be less than 50 percent. In this case, revaccination will be necessary.

At the same time, the overall efficiency of the vaccine in the prevention of severe COVID-19 is 97 percent.

Previously, scientists of the University College of London found that the overall level of antibodies begins to fall within six weeks after complete vaccination and may fall more than 50 percent within ten weeks. Experts analyzed the data of 600 people and found out that after two doses of the Pfizer vaccine levels of antibodies are significantly higher than after the Astrazeneca vaccine. In this case, the clinical consequences of the decrease in antibodies are not yet clear, so it is impossible to talk about falling the level of protection against coronavirus.
