Russia’s GDP in June reached the extramonium level of the IV quarter of 2019 with the exception of seasonality. This is reported by TASS with reference to the overview of the Ministry of Economic Development “On the current situation in the Russian economy.”
The agency noted that the real incomes of the population “continued restoration and approached the level of the same quarter of 2019.”
On July 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the leadership of the country to adjust the goals to reduce the level of poverty of the population. “It is necessary to see: And the salary should grow, they grow. It means that the poverty reduction indicator must be adjusted,” said the head of the state, adding that the main blow to the economy and income of the population has recently inflicted a coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier Rosstat estimated that the level of poverty in Russia in 2020 decreased to 12.1 percent (17.8 million people). This indicator was minimal since 2014.
