Former head of the USSR rocket and space industry, the last member of the State Committee on Emergency Regulation (GCCP), the Curator of the Buran Project Oleg Kicklanov died at the age of 89. This was announced by the head of “Roskosmos” Dmitry Rogozin in his Telegram.

Oleg Baklanov served as the Minister of General Engineering of the USSR from 1983 to 1988. In 1988-1991, he was the secretary of the CPSU Central Committee. There was a member of the GCCP from 18 to 21 August 1991. Since the end of February 2020, he became the last of the living members of this structure.
