The first city in China – Panyzhihua in Sichuan Province – began to pay subsidies for the birth of the second and third child. It is reported by South China Morning POST.
So families will pay 500 yuan per month (approximately 5.5 thousand rubles) until the child achievement of the three-year-old age. In addition, families will have access to free care for pregnant. Local employers will also be offered to encourage fertility and offering children care services.
Such measures are associated with a fall in fertility in China, due to which the authorities expect to reduce the number of able-bodied citizens and increase the burden on the economy. Prime Minister Lee Chanian also said that this issue is crucial because it directly affects the development of China. “We must improve the quality of life, create an inclusive child care system, as well as to ensure economic and social policy, which is consistent with the family planning policy,” politician noted.
Changes in the fertility policy began in May, when the Chinese authorities allowed families to have three children.
From 1979 to 2015, China’s power conducted a demographic policy “One family is one child.” Since the beginning of the 2016 citizens, countries were allowed to have two children. Since the 1970s, Beijing legislatively limits the family size, since the authorities see the problem in a huge increase in the population: due to this, land, water and energy resources of the country are overloaded.
