Thailand turned capital airport to hospital with cardboard beds

Thailand’s authorities have turned Don Muang International Airport in Metropolitan Bangkok in a field hospital for patients with COVID-19. It is reported by the Edition Independent.

The solution was made due to a record number of identified cases of contamination of coronavirus, as well as an increase in the number of deaths. The hospital was equipped in a cargo building, since almost all domestic flights were canceled two weeks ago.

The field hospital will be able to post 1800 patients. Workers have already prepared the required number of beds from cardboard boxes with mattresses and pillows decomposed on them. After two weeks, the hospital will be fully ready.

The rapid spread of the “delta” -Variant Coronavirus forced the neighboring Cambodia to close his borders with Thailand. The authorities also introduced restrictions on movement in eight provinces.

In total, during a pandemic in Thailand, more than 560 thousand people were infected with coronavirus infection, 4.5 thousand sicks died. In July, the Ministry of Health of the countries recorded a sharp increase in the number of new cases of COVID-19.
