More than 75 percent of the Russian adult population over the past year translated money over the Internet or through mobile applications of banks, told in the Central Bank of the country. This indicator has become a record, compared with 2018, having increased by more than 20 percent.
The Central Bank conducted a survey in May 2021, measuring the financial availability indicators last year. In the study, it also turned out that the use of maps is actively growing in the country. In retail turnover, their share increased by more than 10 percent, to 67.6 percent, and non-cash payments in general rose to 70.3 percent by 5.6 percent.
The Central Bank associates such a development of a pandemic situation and coronavirus restrictions. They, according to the Bank, were the reason that the population declared less satisfaction with the services of financial organizations – banks, pawnshops, brokers and other sector institutions. At least one type of organization was positively assessed by 75 percent of the respondents, which is almost 15 percent below 2018. At the same time, the small and medium business, on the contrary, became more satisfied with their work – the share in 2020 increased to 82.3 percent, which is 2.2 percent above the level of two years ago.
In April, it became known that Russian banks on the initiative of the regulator could oblige to provide their customers with the opportunity to limit online payment. Such a service is already available in some credit institutions, it is assumed that it will be used by those who rarely use such payments and translations.
