Russian light tactical aircraft (LTS), known as Checkmate (“Shah and Mat”) and Su-75, does not like the American F-35 Lightning II fighter, writes the National Interest magazine.
According to the US publication, LTS exists only in the form of a “layout”, therefore it cannot be considered a real fighter. The magazine assures that if Checkmate reminded F-35 Lightning II, it would have to use “weapons interfaces, largely dependent on software.”
In the publication of the SU-75 is called the plane, which “will have to go a long way before he can act in the conditions of war.”
The National Interest is asked about composite materials that are used as part of the LTS, and also are interested in conditions, within which not only serial assembly is possible, but also systematic maintenance SU-75. “Is there any infrastructure to perform these critical functions?” – asks the publication.
In the journal we are confident that the biggest problem of “dry” protruding the developer of LTS is the uncertainty associated with the characteristics and scales of the production of this fighter.
In July, “Rostech” presented LTS at the 2021 International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-21). According to the head of the state corporation, Sergey Chezzov, a single-engine tactical fighter, the model of which was presented at the MACC-2021, will cost from $ 25 to 30 million. According to the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Yuri Slyusar, shown at the cabin, the aircraft is a model that will fly in 2023.
