Largest producer of products warned about price increases

The largest food producer Nestle warned about raising prices for its goods in the second half of 2021, CNN transmits.

In the first half of the year, the company raised prices by 1.3 percent, in the second one is planned to increase by about two percent. The rise in price is caused by the increase in prices for goods and transportation. Nestle can cope with the increase in the cost of some purchasing products and not raise prices for their products, such as coffee. In the event of a rise in price of transportation, the company has nothing to oppose, so prices are growing, said the executive director Mark Schneider.

Nestle produces instant coffee, mineral water, chocolate, ice cream, dairy products, baby food and other goods. Kitkat, Maggi, Nescafe, Nesquik and Nestea trademarks are most famous. The United States accounts for a third of the company’s turnover.

At the end of May, Nestle admitted that most of its products do not correspond to the generally accepted definition of healthy nutrition. Unhealthy recognized 96 percent of goods in the segment of coffee and beverages and 99 percent – in the segment of candies and ice cream.

In early June, the State Duma deputy and the former head of Rospotrebnadzor Gennady Onishchenko called for banning in Russia some products of Coca-Cola, Nestle and Mars due to the high content of sugar. The deputy called on to revive food culture in the country with full breakfasts, dinners and dinners.
