As a result of its introduction, it was possible to increase the yield of the suitable casting from 50 to 80%. The alloy is applied in the manufacture of cast workpieces of parts deposited at the enterprise in the framework of the devix. Research work aimed at improving the mechanical properties of castings and a decrease in the cost of production of billets from the silicon alloy began at the end of 2020. Before experts stood the task to eliminate the cause of the low plasticity of the material. To achieve the mechanical properties of the castings required by the design documentation, it was proposed to add to the alloy the alloy component – aluminum-strontium (AL-SR).

The silhoune alloy is widely used in the foundry, since it has good yield and strength. Due to which it is used in the manufacture of thin-walled castings of complex forms. A high alloy tightness indicator allows you to use it for molding medium and large cabinet parts operating under high internal pressure.
