Roskosmos commented on inclusion of “Science” module engines

Roskosmos commented on information about the unplanned inclusion of engines on the multifunctional laboratory module (MLM) “science” by the Russian segment of the International Space Station (MCS) “Science”. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the corporation.

As explained in the company, at the moment there is a process of transferring a module from the flight mode to “docked with the ISS” mode. “Works with fuel residues in the module,” the press service reported.

The NASA clarified that control over the ISS after unplanned activation of the engines “Science” managed to return.

MLM docked to the ISS on July 29. On the ISS “Science” took the place of the Pierce module, which, with the help of the MS-16 Progress Cargo Ship, was reflected from the Russian station segment on July 26.

Start of heavy missile “Proton-M” with “Science” from the Baikonur cosmodrome took place on July 21.
